Our Officers are pretty representative of our membership. From skilled trade workers to business owners, from law enforcement officers to secretaries, from Harley to Honda owners, everyone can find a place to fit in the Apple Valley Chapter of the SCRC.
Alvin "Hawgy" Petitt
First Officer
Hawgy joined the Apple Valley SCRC in 2006. Hawgy found us through his wife, SlowRide who works with our Senior Road Captain, Doo-rite. Hawgy has been riding motorcycles for over 30 years, and enjoys the friends and fellowship of the SCRC. He owns an information technology firm, and an Amsoil dealership and lives in Front Royal. He enjoys riding his 2006 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic, sometimes with Slow Ride. (But she usually rides her own '02 HD Electra Glide Classic.)

homebru (with a little 'h') is one of our original members. homebru is also a member of the Iron Butt Association and participates often in IBA rides. He's very interested in the legal red-tape associated with state legislation and motorcycles and is a wealth of information on the subject. When not riding his '08 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic, he can be found at his day job; math teacher for Fairfax County Schools.

Chris "Doo-rite" Geraghty Senior Road Captain &
Along with five others, Doo-rite was a charter member of the Upper Shenandoah Valley (now Apple Valley) Chapter of the Southern Cruisers. He joined in December 2003 after tranferring his membership from the Loudoun County Chapter. He has always been an active and integral part of the group, and leads some of the best rides we have.
Doo-rite gets his name because he is a Law Enforcement Officer in Loudoun County - so watch out when you travel in that area!

Chuck "Hi-C" Salmon Tailgunner
Quite possibly the world's sexiest Tailgunner, Hi-C joined us in May of 2006. He immediately became an active and important contributor to our group. He was a member of another riding club for several years. When he began to question some of their activities, they told him, "Maybe you'd be happier in another club - like the Southern Cruisers!" He looked us up on the Internet and the rest is history. We're glad they sent them our way!

Denise Salmon Secretary
Being married to "quite possibly the world's sexiest Tailgunner" you might think she's "all that". But Denise is one of the most pleasant people to be around. She's been a member since May of '06 and is a constant fixture on the back of Hi-C's Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic. =========================================
Sissy "SloRide" Petitt Treasurer
SloRide has been a member almost as long as her husband, Hawgy. She rides her own 2002 H-D Electra Glide Classic (not shown here). As the bookkeeper for the technology business that her and Hawgy own, she's well equipped to handle the financial affairs of our chapter. Her "day job" is in Leesburg at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. SloRide got her name by, well, we'll just leave that to your imagination.
